About MobileCodes
What MobileCodes is
MobileCodes is an independent reference for mobile phone secret codes, USSD dial strings and built-in device diagnostics. We maintain a curated database of codes for the major Android manufacturers and for Apple, and we present each one with a plain-English explanation of what it does, which category it belongs to and how risky it is to run.
The site started because most secret-code lists online are copied from one another, unlabelled and frequently wrong. A dial string that erases a phone should never sit in the same undifferentiated list as one that shows the firmware version. Every entry we publish carries a risk level for exactly that reason.
How we source and verify codes
Codes come from publicly available manufacturer service documentation, official support articles, platform-level GSM and 3GPP MMI specifications, and hands-on testing on devices we have access to. Where a code only works on a specific firmware branch or region, we say so rather than presenting it as universal.
Our conversational assistant is deliberately restricted: it answers code questions strictly from the verified database and is never allowed to invent a dial string. When a question falls outside the database, the answer is clearly labelled as general AI guidance instead of a verified code, so you always know what you are looking at.
Who we are not
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, Google, OnePlus, Huawei, Motorola, Oppo, Vivo or any other manufacturer. All trademarks belong to their respective owners. We do not provide network unlocking, IMEI changing, blacklist removal or any other service that would be unlawful or that would misrepresent a device.
We also do not collect your IMEI. The IMEI checker on this site validates a number using the public Luhn checksum in your browser session; we do not store it or look it up against any private register.
Contact
Questions, corrections or takedown requests are welcome — a correction from someone who owns the device is the fastest way for us to improve. See the contact page for details.
